Marriage is not a partnership agreement. It is a covenant before God.

A contract says I will stay while it works. A covenant says I am fixed here. Genesis gives us marriage before sin enters the world, which means it was never designed as a repair system. It was designed as a sacred union.

Three movements define it. Leave is not relocation, it is a transfer of priority — from parents, from ego, from independence, from self-rule. A man who refuses to leave is divided, and a divided man cannot lead. Hold fast is covenant language, not convenience language. One flesh is financial, emotional, directional and spiritual, not merely physical. Marriage is not two parallel lives under one roof.
